Hemoglobin in children: norms and diagnostics| Здоровье
Hemoglobin in children: norms and diagnostics Hemoglobin is an important component of the blood, which is responsible for transporting oxygen to all organs and tissues of the body. In children, the level of hemoglobin is important for their health, because the normal functioning of the body depends on it. However, the level of hemoglobin in children changes with age, and therefore it is important to understand what norms are normal for different age groups. For newborns and children up to 6 months, the norm of hemoglobin in the blood is from 140 to 220 g/l. This is due to the fact that in the first months of life the child receives a significant amount of hemoglobin through the placenta, which contributes to the normal development of the body. However, by the end of the first year of life, the hemoglobin level decreases and stabilizes at 110-130 g/l. In older children, the norm of hemoglobin varies depending on their age and gender. In boys and girls from 1 to 6 years old, the hemoglobin level should be from 115 to 140 g/l, and in schoolchildren (from 6 to 12 years old) - from 120 to 145 g/l. After 12 years, the hemoglobin norm becomes similar to the adult level, that is, from 120 to 160 g/l in girls and from 130 to 165 g/l in boys. Insufficient hemoglobin level, or anemia, can be the result of various factors, including malnutrition, iron deficiency, chronic diseases or genetic disorders. Symptoms of anemia can include weakness, fatigue, pale skin, headache, as well as decreased appetite and irritability. If the hemoglobin level is significantly reduced, this can affect the child's overall development, reduce his work capacity and ability to learn. To detect hemoglobin disorders, doctors perform a complete blood count, which allows you to determine the concentration of this important component in the body. If abnormalities are detected, the doctor may prescribe additional tests to determine the exact cause. If anemia is detected, the doctor may recommend treatment that includes dietary correction (for example, increasing iron intake) or taking special medications. Prevention of low hemoglobin levels in children includes proper nutrition, rich in iron, vitamins and other beneficial trace elements. It is also important for children to undergo regular medical examinations and tests to detect any health problems at an early stage. In general, hemoglobin is an important indicator of a child's health, and its level should be monitored from birth. Knowing the hemoglobin norms for each age and timely detection of any violations help ensure the healthy development of the child and avoid serious complications. Ключевые слова:
