Simple ways to recognize a stroke: how to get help in time Stroke is one of the most common causes of death and disability worldwide. Early detection of stroke symptoms can significantly reduce the risk of serious consequences and even save your life. It is important to know how to correctly identify the first signs of a stroke in order to consult a doctor in time and get the necessary medical help. There are several simple tests that will help you quickly assess the possible presence of a stroke in a person. One of the most effective methods is the F.A.S.T. test (from the English. "Face", "Arms", "Speech", "Time"). This test includes four simple steps that can be performed even in conditions where you are not a medical professional. The first stage of the test is an assessment of the face. Ask the person to smile. If one side of the face does not rise or appears asymmetrical, this may be a sign of a stroke. The next stage is to check the mobility of the arms. Ask the patient to raise both arms up at the same time. If one arm cannot be raised or it falls down, this can also indicate a stroke. The third step is to assess speech. Ask the person to repeat a simple sentence, for example: "I feel fine." If speech becomes unclear, unclear or the person cannot pronounce words correctly, this is another serious symptom of a stroke. Finally, the most important aspect is time. If you notice at least one of the listed symptoms, call an ambulance immediately, because time is critical for successful stroke treatment. Symptoms of a stroke can occur suddenly. These can be problems with balance, dizziness, severe headache, blurred vision in one or both eyes. Sometimes a stroke can be accompanied by numbness or weakness in one part of the body, for example, in an arm or leg. It is important not to ignore these symptoms and seek medical help immediately. Stroke can occur for various reasons, such as a blockage or rupture of a blood vessel in the brain. When the blood supply to the brain is disrupted, brain cells begin to die, and this can lead to serious consequences. Therefore, every minute is important, and the sooner treatment is started, the greater the likelihood of preserving the patient's health and working capacity. To prevent stroke, it is important to adhere to a healthy lifestyle: eat right, engage in regular physical activity, control blood pressure and do not smoke. This will help reduce the risk of stroke and maintain your health for many years. Thus, knowing simple tests and paying attention to your health and the health of your loved ones can save your life. Stroke is a serious disease, but timely assistance can significantly improve the prognosis and quality of life after it. Ключевые слова:
