First of all, it is worth paying attention to chicken eggs. Although they may look dirty, they should not be washed. Eggs have a natural protective shell that prevents bacteria from entering. If the egg is washed, it can destroy this protection, increasing the risk of salmonella infection.

Another product that cannot be washed is meat. Many cooks believe that washing meat removes bacteria. However, in reality, washing can cause the spread of germs on kitchen surfaces. It is better to simply cook meat at a high temperature, which is guaranteed to destroy all pathogenic microorganisms.

Fruits with a thick skin, such as bananas or avocados, also do not need to be washed. Since their skin is not consumed, there is no point in washing them. Moreover, during washing, it is possible to introduce bacteria to the surface, which can then transfer to clean parts if you cut them with a knife.

Do not forget about cereals, especially rice. Many people find that washing rice improves its taste or texture. However, this can lead to the loss of useful substances contained in the shell of the grain. Modern rice processing methods often already include cleaning, so additional washing may be unnecessary.

Potatoes should also not be washed before cooking if you plan to bake them with the skin on. During cooking, the dirt from the surface of the potato will burn, and it will not affect the taste. But excessive washing can only disturb the natural balance of taste.

In conclusion, it is recommended to be careful when preparing products. Following simple rules, you can not only preserve the taste of dishes, but also ensure food safety. Therefore, before washing this or that product, think about its features and benefits that can be lost due to improperly performed actions.
