Treatment of stye in a child

Styes is an inflammatory disease of the eyelid that can occur in both adults and children. In a child, stye can cause discomfort, but with proper care and prompt treatment, it can be quickly relieved.

Warm compress wrap: Applying a warm compress to the affected area can help relieve pain and speed up the healing of the boil. Use a clean, warm towel or heating pad, but make sure it's not too hot to avoid damaging your baby's delicate skin.

Hygiene care: Make sure your child does not touch or try to squeeze out the stye, as this can spread the infection. Practice good hygiene, wash your hands regularly, and help your child keep the eye area clean.

Use antibiotic drops or ointments: When styes are caused by a bacterial infection, a doctor may prescribe antibiotic drops or ointments. It is important to use exactly the drugs that are recommended by the doctor.

Avoid makeup and contact lenses: During treatment, it is better not to apply makeup on the eyes and not to use contact lenses. This will help prevent further irritation and infection.

Consult your doctor: If the child's sty does not go away or gets worse, be sure to consult a doctor. He can assess the situation and, if necessary, prescribe more serious treatment, such as antibiotics.

Do not try to open barley yourself: Do not attempt to pierce or squeeze the stye yourself. This can worsen the infection or damage the eye. The disease can resolve itself within a week or two. However, if the condition worsens or causes concern, it is always best to consult a pediatrician or ophthalmologist for accurate diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
