When Fatigue Becomes Dangerous: How to Recognize the First Signs of Chronic Fatigue| Здоровье
When Fatigue Becomes Dangerous: How to Recognize the First Signs of Chronic Fatigue In today's fast-paced world of constant stress, the feeling of fatigue has become so common that many people simply do not notice how it turns into a chronic form. However, doctors emphasize: chronic fatigue syndrome is not just a consequence of overload, but a serious disorder that can significantly affect the quality of life. It is important to recognize it in time, because early intervention helps prevent more serious consequences.
One of the first signals of chronic fatigue is a feeling of complete exhaustion that does not go away even after a long sleep or a weekend. A person wakes up feeling as if he did not sleep at all. Such "causeless" exhaustion indicates that the body does not restore energy properly, and the nervous system is in a state of constant tension.
People with chronic fatigue often complain of “brain fog” — difficulty remembering, absent-mindedness, loss of the ability to think quickly. They may forget simple things, make mistakes in routine tasks, or spend much more time on things that used to come easily. This indicates an overload of cognitive functions and impaired metabolic processes in the brain.
Against the background of constant fatigue, headaches, body aches, back or neck pain often appear. Doctors explain: this is a consequence of reduced muscle tone, lack of oxygen in the tissues, and chronic stress. Similar symptoms are often confused with a cold or physical overwork, but if they last for weeks, this is a reason to be wary.
Another early manifestation of the syndrome is sleep problems. A person may not fall asleep for a long time, wake up often at night or feel sleepy during the day. At the same time, changes in appetite are observed - from a complete lack of desire to eat to uncontrolled overeating. This is how the body tries to compensate for the energy deficit.
Emotional manifestations are no less indicative. People with chronic fatigue become excessively irritable, react sharply to trifles, and may fall into a state of apathy or anxiety. Such changes are associated with hormonal imbalance and exhaustion of the nervous system, which often accompanies prolonged overload.
Due to constant stress and lack of recovery, the immune system suffers. The body becomes more vulnerable to viruses, bacteria, and allergies. A person gets sick more often, and the recovery period is prolonged. This is one of the most serious consequences of chronic fatigue, as it indicates that the body's resources are being depleted.
