According to scientists, anthocyanins have a positive effect on the condition of blood vessels, help lower blood pressure, and improve the elasticity of artery walls.

This was possible thanks to the high content of anthocyanins, which affect the inner lining of blood vessels - the endothelium - and prevent the formation of plaques.

In addition to the benefits for the heart, blueberries also have a positive effect on the regulation of blood sugar levels. Researchers from Louisiana State University found that including blueberries in your daily diet helps improve insulin sensitivity. This is especially important for people with prediabetes or those with a hereditary predisposition to type 2 diabetes.

Another plus of this berry is its ability to promote weight loss. Blueberries are low in calories, but at the same time rich in fiber, which provides a feeling of satiety for a long time. They also help regulate cholesterol levels, which further supports cardiovascular health.

Given all these properties, experts recommend adding blueberries to your diet regularly — whether fresh, frozen, dried, or as part of a smoothie. Regardless of the form of consumption, this berry is a powerful natural remedy for the prevention of chronic diseases, combining benefits and pleasure in one small fruit.
